A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash on the A27 Brighton bypass this morning which caused massive tailbacks for several hours.
The biker, a 55-year-old man from Portslade, crashed his motorcycle on the eastbound carriageway between the Dyke Road junction and the A23 slip road at 10.53am. No other vehicles were involved.
The Sussex Police helicopter, Hotel 900, attended and landed nearby, but the man was declared dead at the location.

Traffic was severely disrupted while medical, recovery and investigation work took place. The road was re-opened shortly after 1.30pm, but congestion took some time to ease after this.
