Making friends with your neighbours is the plan behind the first city-wide Zocalo on Sunday, September 4.
People across Brighton and Hove will turn off the television, put a chair outside their house from 5pm and get to know their neighbours.
Brighton Zocalo was set up in 2001, and households in Hanover embraced the project.
Zocalo is the name of the main plaza in Mexico City. It is a public space where people congregate and just hang out, something that is second nature to the Mexicans.
Now David Bramwell hopes to share the Mexican and Hanover fun with the rest of the city. Plans are underway in the Five Ways, Preston Circus and Hanover areas, with expressions of interest in many areas including Whitehawk, Buckingham Road and Seven Dials.
Anyone who wants to take part can download a poster to put in their window and start being social on Sunday evening.
