A man has been charged with having imitation firearms and knives at Brighton Marina after being arrested there yesterday morning (Saturday 10 August).
He is not believed to be the gunman who has been at large for almost a week whose identity and description Sussex Police has not released for “operational reasons”.
The force said this morning (Sunday 11 August): “A man arrested following an incident at Brighton Marina on Saturday morning (10 August) has been charged to appear in court.
“Shaun Hartley, 38, of South Coast Road, Peacehaven, has been charged with two counts of possession of an imitation firearm in public, three counts of possession of an offensive weapon (a knife) in public and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis).
“He has been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 12 August.”
