A Brighton man faces a crown court trial charged with two counts of raping the same woman.
Ryan Davies, 32, of Grand Parade, Brighton, is alleged to have carried out the attacks in Haig Avenue, Coldean, on Saturday 4 May.
He appeared before Brighton magistrates on Saturday 11 May when he was granted conditional bail until Friday 6 June when he is due before a judge.
Both charges allege that Davies “intentionally penetrated the anus of a woman with your penis when she did not consent and you did not reasonably believe that she was consenting”.
Davies was remanded on bail subject to a curfew between 7pm and 7am when he was ordered to stay at his address in Grand Parade.
He was ordered to report to the police station in John Street, Brighton, each day between 10am and 2pm.
Davies was told that he was not allowed to contact his alleged victim by any means, whether directly or indirectly.
Magistrates also banned him from entering Portslade.
