Lucy Farrett: Lois
06 May 2019
Lucy Farrett is a talented character performer. In this one woman show she plays her alter ego Lois Malony a kind of superhero crime fighter who also works in a cooking utensil shop. She sizzles on the stage bringing to life this fantastic creature she has created and also playing all the other characters in the story. The dialogue is super fast and wickedly funny. I am sure I missed a few jokes they came that quickly.
The show unfolds chaotically with props flying all over the place but is delivered with superb timing and sexy panache. The craziness is interspersed with musings on the meaning of identity which help give a context and emotional undercurrent to the seemingly fantastical nonsense that is exploding in front of you. This was a well honed performance from a woman at the top of her game. She should do well when she takes this to Edinburgh.
