A manhunt for a man who broke into a house armed with a machete and attacked two people has ended with an arrest in Brighton.
The attacker forced his way into a home in Shoreham yesterday at 10am and assaulted a man and a woman, sparking a large search operation.
Shoreham Academy was in lockdown for part of the day, and the NPAS Redhill police helicopter also assisted with the hunt.
Police released the name of the man they thought responsible, and circulated a picture of him in an attempt to track him down.
The man and woman were not seriously injured.
Later in the day, Ernie Taylor, 28, was found at an address in Brighton and arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and attempted grievous bodily harm. He currently remains in police custody.
