A father and son have appeared in court in Brighton charged with drug dealing in the town.
Andre Wynter and his son Jacob were remanded in custody and are expected to spend the coming four weeks in prison awaiting their next court hearing.
Jacob Wynter, 31, from West Norwood, in Streatham, south London, was charged with having a handgun and ammunition as well as having cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.
Andre Wynter, 57, of Cricketers Close, Erith, Kent, was charged with having crack cocaine with intent to supply and with having cannabis.
Sussex Police said: “Two men have appeared in court in Brighton, charged with crack cocaine supply offences, following a pre-planned police operation in the city on Tuesday (27 March).
“Andre Wynter, 57, unemployed, of Cricketers Close, Erith, Kent, and Jacob Wynter, 31, a cashier, of Yeoman Close, London, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (28 March), both charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply.
“Andre Wynter is also charged with possession of cannabis.
“Jacob Wynter is also charged with possession heroin and cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a firearm and ammunition without a certificate.
“The Wynters are father and son. They were both remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on (Thursday) 25 April.
“Officers had executed a warrant at an address in Wolseley Road, Portslade, on Tuesday evening where they seized a quantity of drugs and a handgun and ammunition.”
