Brighton Kemptown and Brighton Pavilion MPs Des Turner and David Lepper have backed a campaign to save the BBC’s new music digital radio station, 6Music.
Dr Turner, both of whom are standing down at the next election, signed an early day motion protesting at the Beeb’s plans to axe the station.
He said: “Brighton is a key area for new bands and music which form an important part of our local culture and industry. It’s important that new music has an outlet and BBC 6Music provides that.”
Dr Turner did not reveal whether he listens to the station himself.
