A Brighton youth centre and a swimming pool fund are hundreds of pounds better off thanks to dozens of cyclists who took part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
About 140 cyclists used Happy Valley in Woodingdean as a base, with the Caravan Club of East Sussex organising a 120-vehicle camp at the site.
The caravan club has since donated £1,200 in total to two good causes in Woodingdean as a gesture of goodwill and to say thanks.
Woodingdean Youth Centre and the Woodingdean Swimming Pool Fund have each received £600.
Councillor Geoff Wells, who represents Woodingdean on Brighton and Hove City Council, said: “I am delighted that the Caravan Club of East Sussex has given generously to these two very deserving local causes.
“It was a real pleasure to host them in Woodingdean.
“They were well organised, with proper toilets, showers and other facilities.
“And unlike the previous unauthorised occupants of Happy Valley, they left the site in a perfect condition.”
Fellow Woodingdean Conservative councillor Dee Simson said: “If they are looking to repeat their stay next year, we, and I think most local residents, would welcome them back with open arms.”
