Andone they know it – Huddersfield undone by Albion’s Romanian debutant

Albion came from behind to win away from home in the Premier League for the first time. Romanian international Florin And one, on his full debut, headed the Albion into the lead with 20 minutes left.

However, a positive result for Albion looked as far away as a prompt payback on the i360, as Mathias Jorgensen put the Terriers ahead after just 55 seconds. Bruno Saltor and Maty Ryan were caught cold, with Bruno slicing his first touch.

Andone might have pulled Albion level halfway through the first half but his close-range shot was charged down.

Just after, as the ball ran away from Huddersfield midfielder Steve Mounie, he was adjudged to have left his foot in on Albion’s Yves Bissouma and was shown a straight red card.

Deep into first-half injury time, Bruno showed exceptional tenacity in keeping the ball in play and from the resulting corner Shane Duffy put Albion level.

Albion were on top for long periods at the start of the second half, with Jose Izquierdo having a couple of close efforts.

But it was an old boy, long-serving Solly March, who supplied a great cross for the new boy Andone who glanced Albion into the lead with a superbly placed header.

Ten-man Huddersfield were limited to half chances from set pieces but never really looked threatening.

Before the end Leon Balogun, on as a sub for Bruno, picked up a booking which could have been worse.

Next up for Albion, our friends from Croydon, Crystal Palace, at the Amex on Tuesday (4 December).

Meanwhile, Albion are top of the bottom of the Premier League, in 11th place and will stay there until at least Tuesday evening.

    Fantastic result.

By Tuesday night hopefully we will be in the top 10. Not bad for little old Brighton!
