Community groups have two weeks to apply for funding from a dedicated fund run by Brighton and Hove City Council.
This afternoon the council said: “The council has extended the time for groups wanting to apply for its special communities funding.
“Organisations including self-help groups, community centres, neighbourhood events, sports, culture, arts and environmental work now have until Wednesday 31 October to apply to the Communities Fund.
“Groups with an annual income up to £20,000 can apply to the Engagement Fund for up to £2,000.
“For organisations whose income is £100,000, up to £10,000 can be applied for from the Resilience Fund.”
Councillor Emma Daniel, who chairs the council’s Neighbourhoods, Inclusion, Communities and Equalities Committee, said: “I’m delighted we have been able to extend the final deadline for applications to our Communities Fund in 2018-19.
“With an extra two weeks to bid this will allow many more local voluntary groups to apply for council support towards their excellent work across Brighton and Hove.”
Councillor Daniel added: “The Communities Fund is a fantastic way of ensuring the city’s voluntary and community groups receive much-needed support, help and, in particular, funding while recognising the positive impact of voluntary action.”
Organisations wanting to apply can do so on the council website.
