A Brighton man is to go on trial accused of publishing a risque photograph of his ex-girlfriend and sending it to her friends and family on Facebook.
Nicholas Saxon, 50, of Belmont Court, Brighton, yesterday pleaded not guilty to disclosing a private sexual photograph or film at Brighton Magistrates Court.
Saxon, who runs pizza and ice cream vans, is said to have set up a fake Facebook profile to post a picture he had taken of his ex when they were in a relationship, in which she was lifting her dress to reveal her buttocks and thong.
Underneath the picture, which was posted on December 7 last year, was a caption in Spanish which translated as “Does my bum look big in this?”. The profile then sent friend requests to 150 of her friends and family, the court heard.
Saxon is being prosecuted under so-called “revenge porn” legislation, which came into force in England and Wales in 2015.
The case was committed to Lewes Crown Court, and Saxon was released on unconditional bail until his next appearance on November 1.
