The Greens have held all three seats in Hanover and Elm Grove in the face of a concerted campaign by Labour.
Green group convenor Bill Randall topped the poll, and was joined on the council by two newcomers, Liz Wakefield and Matt Follett.
He said: “I feel very very pleased that we have retained all three seats, and personally I’m pleased that I’ve increased my votes since last time.
“It shows people have been listening to the Greens’ arguments and now we have to begin listening to the city.”
