The suspect in an attempted mugging in a Brighton street has been identified, according to Sussex Police.
The force shared the news of their success shortly after making a public appeal which was publicised by the local press and on social media.
Sussex Police said: “A suspect has been identified in connection with a Brighton assault.
“Police issued a photo of a man thought to be connected with the attack on (Wednesday) 2 May.
”Officers now believe a suspect has been identified.
“A man was walking along Western Road, Brighton, around 8.10pm on Wednesday 2 May when another man approached him and attempted to steal his phone.
“The victim was assaulted from behind, subsequently fell to the floor and suffered multiple minor injuries. “
