Three men have been arrested and bailed by police after a 22-year-old man was shot in Hove.
Initial reports said that the victim was a 13-year-old boy but Sussex Police issued a correction yesterday.
The three men who were arrested on firearms charges were an 18-year-old man from Brighton, a 23-year-old man from Brighton and a 20-year-old man from Hove.
They have been given police bail until Monday 23 May while police carry out further inquiries.
The victim was shot by someone firing an air rifle in Buckley Close, Hangleton, at about 10.15pm on Sunday (24 April).
He suffered a wound close to his collarbone and was treated at the scene by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Armed police were called out and, in addition to the arrests, officers seized an air rifle.
