A strong whiff of cannabis in a Hove Street helped police find a cannabis factory inside a flat – but the tenant was nowhere to be found.
Neighbours of the flat in Palmeira Avenue tipped off police after they smelt the distinctive whiff, and officers traced it to the factory on Friday afternoon.
Police are now trying to trace the tenant, and are appealing for information.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police discovered a cannabis factory in a flat in Palmeria Avenue, Hove, after being alerted by neighbours reporting a strong smell of the drug.
“Around 60 mature plants were found inside when officers went to the flat on 11 May at 4pm. No one was inside. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the tenant.
