Brighton based record label QM Records are throwing a fundraiser gig for Brighton Girl, to help raise the essential costs needed to keep Brighton Girl and the whole of the City Girl Network going.

Celebrate two years of Brighton Girl, dance to some great live music and support them on their mission to help young women call their cities home! This Brighton Girl Fundraiser gig is open to all genders, so they’d love to see your friends and partners there too!

The night will take place all night on 12th April from 19:30pm to 2:00am (13th April) at The Walrus in Ship Street, Brighton. There will be a series of amazing acts that QM Records love to champion. There’ll be a raffle too.

You can find the £6 tickets here on the Brighton Girl online shop.

So what exactly is Brighton Girl?

Brighton Girl is a community open to all twenty-something women finding their feet in Brighton. They run a whole host of events bringing the Brighton Girl community together, from monthly drinks and coffee meet ups, to music, comedy and cinema trips, and a tonne of other ad-hoc hangouts organised in their Facebook Group.

Who are QM Records?

QM Records are a Brighton based record label founded and ran by Ned Archibong and Nicholson Davids from the musical act known as Normanton Street. Founded in 2013, QM Records has been a staple in Brighton and London scenes with a DIY ethos developing artists and promoting events.

Where’s The Walrus?

The event takes place at The Walrus Pub & Restaurant that is located a stone’s throw inland from the A259 coast road at 10 Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AD. It’s likely that most of you will still remember the building under its former guise as The Smugglers.

Who are the bands playing on the night?
Hush:
Seven of Brighton’s most exciting musicians who use their love of Blues, Neo-Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Rock and Jazz to deliver shockingly phat grooves, intense guitar riffs, fearless vocals and a seriously good time.

Naveen:
Four-piece Ambient Indie/pop band based in Brighton who blend electronic sounds with soulful vocals.
