A Hove man has admitted carrying out three bank robberies in 12 days.
Clifford Hellier, 56, of Queen Victoria Avenue, Hove, held up
- the NatWest bank in Church Road, Hove, on Tuesday 8 March
- the Co-operative Bank in Western Road, Brighton, on Tuesday 1 March
- the Halifax bank in George Street, Hove, on Friday 25 February
He handed cashiers a bag each time with a note telling them that no one would be hurt if they filled the bag with cash.
And he held one of his hands in his pocket as though he was holding a gun.
On Wednesday 9 March he was arrested after being spotted near Waitrose in Western Road, Brighton, stained with security dye from the bank notes stolen from NatWest on the previous day.
At Lewes Crown Court he was remanded in custody to await sentence on Tuesday 26 April.
