A suspected Brighton drug dealer has been brought before magistrates charged with having a stash of cannabis and attacking another man.
The offences were alleged to have taken place less than a week apart.
Daniel Gosling, 28, of Glenwood Lodge, in Grand Parade, Brighton, was charged with assault by beating and having cannabis with intent to supply.
He denied being a drug dealer when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (7 November).
The bench was told that Gosling attacked Kevin Fitton at a flat in Buckingham Road, Brighton, on Tuesday 31 October.
He was also accused of having cannabis, intending to sell it, in Duke Street, Brighton, on Sunday (5 November).
The court said that Gosling should be kept in prison while he awaits a trial by jury.
He was ordered to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday 5 December for a preliminary hearing before a judge.
