An elderly man died yesterday after falling from the cliffs above Brighton Marina onto the undercliff walk below.
Ambulances and police cars were called shortly before midday to the path behind the Asda car park – but sadly the man was declared dead at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said: “A man has died after falling from cliffs behind the supermarket at Brighton Marina.
“Emergency services were called at 11.49am on Wednesday (October 11), but sadly the man, believed to be in his 70s, was declared dead at the scene.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and the matter has been passed to the coroner’s officer.”
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “I can confirm we were called at approximately 11.45am yesterday (11 October) to reports a person had fallen from height at Brighton Marina.
“Ambulance crews attended the scene. Sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
