Two armed robbers stole about £1,100 cash and two bottles of Scotch in an armed robbery in Portslade.
The pair threatened staff with a knife when they held up the off-licence in Valley Road, Portslade, by the junction with The Crossway.
The two staff members were shaken but unhurt and the robbers made off on foot along The Crossway and into Southdown Road where they disappeared from view.
Detective Constable Tracey Dixon, of Sussex Police, said: “The staff have been left shaken by the robbery and are being offered our support.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who remembers seeing the suspects behaving suspiciously outside the shop before the robbery was committed or with any information that could assist in this investigation.”
The first suspect is described as a stocky white man with a distinctive Liverpudlian accent.
He was wearing a black hooded coat pulled tight around his face, black tracksuit bottoms and black and white Nike Air Max Classic BW trainers.
He was carrying a large kitchen knife with a plastic looking handle.
The second suspect is described as a white man wearing a North Face hooded jacket with a small burgundy coloured logo on the back right shoulder, white scarf, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with three blue stripes running the full length of both legs, black trainers with white stripes and black gloves.
The robbery happened just before the off-licence’s 10pm closing time on Sunday (20 February).
