Two Brighton charities merge

The Whitehawk Inn

The Whitehawk Inn has won plaudits for improving the information, advice and guidance that it offers.

The community centre, which also provides adult education and routes back into work, was assessed for its Matrix accreditation.

Matrix is the international quality standard for organisations that provide information, advice and guidance and requires them to show continuous improvement each year.

The Whitehawk Inn, formerly a pub and now run by Brighton Housing Trust (BHT), will be checked again next year.

BHT said: “Whitehawk Inn, a community learning centre based in East Brighton, has passed its ‘annual continuous improvement check’.

“This Matrix accreditation, a quality standard, demonstrates that the Whitehawk Inn’s information advice and guidance service has met the nationally recognised quality framework.

“Accreditation lasts three years and during this period they will undertake annual continuous improvement checks which is an integral part of the accreditation process.”

The Whitehawk Inn

Whitehawk Inn project manager Tina O’Donnell said “We are delighted to have passed the annual improvement check.

“It shows that our information, advice and guidance provision continues to deliver a high-quality service.

“We know from feedback that clients really appreciate what we do.

“The Matrix accreditation is a really useful reflective process which has helped us look at all aspects of our information, advice and guidance service.

“Matrix is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering.

“It helps providers to improve their services by benchmarking against best practice and it offers accreditation to those that meet the full standard.”
