A delivery driver was robbed of his van in the centre of Brighton on Wednesday (12 July), Sussex Police said today (Friday 14 July).
The force said: “At about 2.45pm on Wednesday a driver was returning to his Ford Transit when he was approached by an unknown man who pushed him to the ground and took his keys.
“The offender then drove off in the vehicle, leaving the victim – a man in his twenties – shaken but uninjured.
“The incident occurred in Whitecross Street, just off Trafalgar Street, and the van was later found abandoned and was recovered by police.
“The suspect is described as white, aged 24 to 25, about 5ft 9in, with short spiky blond hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“In particular, officers are keen to trace a number of builders who were working near by and may have witnessed the incident.
“Anyone with any information is asked to report it online quoting serial 859 of 12/07.
