Two teenage boys from Brighton have been arrested after a BMW crashed after a police chase on Tuesday night (11 July).
Sussex Police said: “At about 2.12am on Tuesday, police on patrol in Lewes Road, Brighton, became aware of a blue BMW 3 Series with a defective headlight.
“Shortly afterwards, the vehicle made off at speed from traffic lights and a pursuit ensued.
“The BMW was followed north up Davey Drive before it collided with a street lamp and a phone box at the junction of The Crossway.
“A 16-year-old boy from Brighton, arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by police, driving with no licence and driving with no insurance, has been released under investigation.
“A 17-year-old boy from Brighton, arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and causing property damage, has been released under investigation.”
