Astute Missile trained at Hove by Seamus Cahill has won the prestigious Greyhound Derby even though it was the rank outsider.
Running out of trap 4 the Hove raider took advantage of some early crowding at the first bend and triumphed by three quarters of a length.
Hove’s other representative Droopy’s Acrobat finished in fifth place.
The winner was available at 40/1 earlier in the day.
It is the first Hove based winner of the Derby since Allen Gift in 2002.
