Fire broke out in a seven-storey office block near Brighton Station this afternoon (Saturday 17 June).
Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to tackle the blaze on the fifth floor of Hanover House, in Queen’s Road, Brighton, just after 4pm.
An hour later it was job done at the office building which is next to Community Base and the BHT (Brighton Housing Trust) Advice Centre.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We had reports of a fire at a property in Queen’s Road, which is a high rise building, at 4.02pm.
“It’s a building comprised of seven floors. The fire was on the fifth floor.
“We used two breathing apparatus, one jet, one hosereel jet and a fan.
“There were no injuries and no one was rescued.”
Two fire engines and the aerial ladder platform from Preston Circus, Brighton, were sent, along with a fire engine each from Hove, Roedean, Lewes and Newhaven.
The fire started on an external patio and the cause was accidental.
