Two homeless men have been told that they will stay in prison while they await trial for the murder of a 39-year-old man in a Brighton squat.
John Battams, 40, and Mike Zur, 28, are charged with the murder of Craig Palmer, a father of three who moved to Brighton from Manchester four years ago.
The pair are accused of killing Mr Palmer in a house in Russell Square, Brighton, on Saturday 15 January.
They appeared at Lewes Crown Court this morning and were remanded in custody until Friday 8 April when a plea and case management hearing is due to take place.
Three other men have been released on police bail while Sussex Police make further inquiries about Mr Palmer’s death.
