A Portslade man has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 25 years for the murder of 19-year-old Shana Grice.
Michael Lane, 27, of Thornhill Rise, Mile Oak, was jailed at Lewes Crown Court this morning (Thursday 23 March).
The judge, Sir Nicholas Green, known as Mr Justice Green, told Lane that he was a cold-hearted murderer who had shown no remorse.
He also criticised the police for failing to take seriously Miss Grice’s fears after she reported Lane for his stalking and obsessive behaviour.
Shana’s parents Sharon Grice and Richard Green echoed the judge’s criticism that the failures of the police emboldened Lane.
They added: “The nightmare will never end for us.”
So sad for everyone who has lost a beautiful young woman
