Youths hunted over threats and violent attempted robberies in Hove

Two teenagers on a moped tried to rob a man at knifepoint in broad daylight in a Brighton street, Sussex Police said today (Friday 17 March).

The force said: “Officers are investigating after a man was threatened with a knife at around 2.45pm on Tuesday (14 March).

“The victim, a 22-year-old local man, was walking along Natal Road and then along Nesbitt Road when he became aware of two men on a silver moped.

“As he walked up some steps between Nesbitt Road and Birling Close, the two men approached him and asked if he wanted to buy drugs.

“One of the suspects then pulled a knife out and so the victim started to run towards Birling Close. The second suspect also produced a knife.

“As the victim turned around to confront the suspects, both ran back down the steps. The victim was not physically injured but left shaken by the incident.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen two men, who are described as being in their late teens, on a silver moped is asked to report online via https://sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal or call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 748 of 14/03.

“Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

Probably Eastern European kids; most Saturdays, you see them being a nuisance and intimidating shoppers by the entrances to Churchill Square
