Seven people had to rescued when a lift broke down in a block of flats in Brighton in the early hours of this morning (Friday 10 February).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 12.13am two Brighton appliances were sent to Lewes Road, in Falmer, following reports of seven people stuck in a lift, who were rescued by crews.”
Firefighters were also called out to a blaze late last night. The fire service said: “At 11.19pm yesterday three appliances from Brighton and Hove, including the aerial ladder platform, were sent to a house fire in Medina Terrace, Hove, which had been extinguished on arrival but crews spent time damping down and cutting away.
“Firefighters used one hose reel jet and a home safety visit was carried out at the scene.”
