A motorbike was set on fire in the early hours of this morning, destroying the bike and also charring a lock up garage in Brighton.
Three fire engines, including the aerial ladder platform, were sent to Sussex Place at 2.29am this morning following reports of a garage fire.
On arrival they tackled a deliberate motorcycle fire in Sussex Place, Brighton.
The blaze happened in front of a lock up garage a few metres away from Brighton Tyres and Exhausts. A worker there said that all that remained of the bike this morning was a charred wreck, and the door to the lock up was also damaged.
A police spokeswoman said: “Sussex Police were notified of a motorcycle fire by East Sussex Fire and Rescue just after 2.30am on Wednesday (1 February) in Sussex Place, Brighton. It has since been established that ignition deliberate.
“The circumstances of this incident remain under investigation and enquiries are on-going at this time. Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 89 of 01/02.”
