Fulham 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 2
Albion came back from a goal down and a David Stockdale penalty save.
Seagulls skipper Bruno Saltor was adjudged to have handled in the penalty area. Stefan Johansen stepped up for Fulham but Stockdale, facing his old club, brilliantly pushed the effort away.
Lucas Piazon put Fulham ahead ten minutes after half time.
The same player had a chance to double the hosts’ advantage a while later but Stockdale saved again.
Substitute Tomer Hemed won Albion a penalty with 20 minutes left. And the Isreali international, after some discussion with Glenn Murray, slotted home just as he did at Craven Cottage in 2015.
Seconds later Anthony Knockaert raced past the Fulham defence but his shot was parried by keeper David Button and Lewis Dunk headed home the rebound from 10 yards out.
Albion soaked up the late Fulham pressure to secure a vital win and go two points clear of Newcastle in second, with a game in hand.
