A man in his fifties was rescued from a fire in his home in Portslade last night.
Three crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service turned out to tackle the blaze in Windlesham Close in Portslade.
They made it to the scene within five minutes of receiving the call just after 10.30pm.
A man in his fifties was trapped inside the building and received appropriate advice over the phone throughout his ordeal until crews arrived.
Firefighters were then able to help him out of the house safely.
The fire, which is believed to have started accidentally, was successfully put out and the crews left the scene at 11.50pm.
