Two women were sexually assaulted on Brighton seafront during a night out.
Sussex Police issued an appeal for witnesses and information this afternoon (Friday 5 August).
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault in Brighton last week.
“Between midnight and 3am on Tuesday 26 July on the Lower Esplanade in Brighton near to Coalition nightclub, a group of men approached a woman.
“The woman, a 23-year-old, was with other women before she separated from her group of friends and was sexually assaulted by one of the men.
“Her friend, a 22-year-old woman, has also reported being sexually assaulted.
“A 16-year-old boy from Worthing has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has been bailed until (Monday) 17 October while investigations continue.”
Detective Sergeant Gary Tattersall said: “We are appealing to anyone in the area who saw what happened or has any information which could help us with our investigation to come forward.”
