The King Alfred swimming pool is to reopen this month after damage from Storm Imogen caused it to close.
The storm loosened the pool’s roof in early February and it’s been shut ever since. The pool was closed while building work was carried out to repair the damage and make the building watertight.
Leisure centre operator Freedom Leisure said that the pool should reopen on Monday 16 May at 6.30am, with all classes and lessons resuming as normal.
The gym has already been moved back to its original home and is fully up and running.
All King Alfred swimming memberships will receive a reimbursement for the closure period and junior swimming school members will also be credited for April. All enrolments will also be frozen, according to the King Alfred Leisure Centre website.
Centre manager Jon Short said: “We can’t apologise enough for the inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience throughout this time.”
