A teenage boy has been injured after being hit by a bus outside Sainsbury’s in St James’s Street this lunchtime.
Ambulances are currently on the scene treating the boy, who is believed to have escaped with minor injuries.
Police are also in attendance, and buses have been diverted while the road is closed.
A police spokesman said: “We got a call at 1.10pm outside Sainsbury’s at the junction of the Old Steine and St James’s Street to reports of an accident involving a bus and a teenage boy, who is believed to have suffered minor injuries.”
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “We’ve attended reports of a young person being hit by a bus at the junction of Old Steine by Sainsbury’s.
“Ambulance crews in one ambulance and two cars attended the scene. The pedestrian was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Alexandra.”
