Brighton millionaire property developer Mike Holland has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a workman at one of his properties, Stanmer House.
David Clark, 55, of Dyke Road Avenue, Hove, died on Tuesday 28 October 2014 after falling from a building in the stable block at the house four weeks earlier on Tuesday 30 September.
An investigation followed and now Holland, 68, of King’s Road, Brighton, and his foreman Grant Oakes, 45, of Elm Drive, Hove, have both been charged with manslaughter.
Additionally, Holland has been charged with four offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act – three counts of failure to discharge a duty and one count of neglect.
Both men will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 14 April when they are expected to deny the charges.
