A thief grabbed about £200 in banknotes from the till of a Wetherspoon pub in Hove before fleeing.
Sussex Police said today (Monday 15 February): “The man went into the Cliftonville Inn in George Street around 2.15pm on Sunday 31 January.
“He walked through to toilets at the rear before going to the bar and waiting until a staff member opened the till and then he made his move.
“He snatched the money, in £20 notes, ran from the pub and down the alleyway leading to the Tesco car park behind the premises.
“He is described as white, aged around 25, of medium build, gaunt faced, very pale and sickly looking with brown eyes and brown hair.
“He was wearing a black or dark blue thick thigh-length rain coat with a hood pulled up during the incident. It had a small white motif on the upper left arm.”
Anyone who saw the theft or who has any information that could help catch the thief is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
