A woman was treated in hospital after being attacked in the centre of Brighton.
Sussex Police said: “Witnesses to an assault on a woman in her fifties from Cuckfield who was attacked in Russell Road, Brighton, on Sunday 3 January.
“The victim was walking back to her car when the unprovoked assault took place at 11.15pm.
“She sustained cuts and bruising to her face and head and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment.
“Her assailant is described as a white man, of eastern European appearance, in his forties, of stocky build. with a broad face and light short shaved hair. He was wearing a short light-coloured jacket.”
