By Tim Hodges from the Albion pre-match press conference
Chris Hughton highlighted to @bhcitynews just where the Albion might miss Beram Kayal’s influence at home to Preston tomorrow (Saturday 24 October).
The Israeli international is suspended for receiving his fifth yellow card of the season on Tuesday night (20 October) which Hughton told Brighton and Hove News he believed was for encroachment as Bristol City took a free kick late in the match.
Hughton said: “Beram has a wonderful drive to want to do well and has of course formed a wonderful relationship with Dale Stephens as a two in midfield.
“He has developed a flexibility in his game and is someone who likes to drive forward with the ball – and I think when a game is levelling out or you are having a tough period, he is able to drive the team forward.
“Also he is a good and strong personality and an infectious character and that’s why the fans have taken to him.”
Andrew Crofts or Rohan Ince are most likely to replace Kayal against Preston.
Albion still have both captain Gordon Greer and midfielder Kazenga LuaLua to return from injury.
Meanwhile, Jamie Murphy is available for selection again after suspension.
