Could this be Brighton’s smallest parking space?
Most motorists would struggle to squeeze into this tiny gap between two sets of double yellow lines on the corner of Fleet Street and Trafalgar Arches in the New England Quarter.
But even if they did, they could find themselves in hot water as they would be parking on private property.
A council spokeswoman explained: “It is marked like this as it is a distinction between the public highway and private land.
Double yellow lines cover the whole of the public highway and the gap is on private land with the land owner having provided their own double yellow lines.
“There is signage in place as well which is not shown in the photo.
“The owner of the vehicle in the photo needs to be careful as they are parked on private land!”
