Firefighters were called to a blaze and a flood a little over half an hour apart this morning (Friday 18 September).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters “were called to reports of smoke issuing from the rear of a premises in Brighton this morning”.
The fire service said: “Two crews from Preston Circus attended the incident in Argyle Road at 7.59am.
“On attendance it was confirmed that the shed to the rear of the premises was alight and crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“One resident suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by ambulance crews.
“East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to reports of flooding in Brighton this morning at 8.33am.
“Two crews from Preston Circus and Roedean fire stations attended the incident in Eastern Road.
“The incident was left with the building owners.”
