Hundreds of staff have been nominated for the annual awards run by Brighton and Hove’s main hospital trust.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH), which runs the Royal Sussex County Hospital, has also extended the deadline for nominations until next Friday (25 September).
There are 12 categories, including Unsung Hero of the Year and Motivational Leader, with awards also up for grabs for Exceptional Care, Innovation and Excellence – and Outstanding Teamwork.
Chief executive Matthew Kershaw said: “Due to popular demand, we have slightly extended the closing date for the Hospital Star Awards to Friday 25 September.
“We have already received over 400 nominations. As always, the winners and runners up and their guests will be invited to the glittering award ceremony at the Dome in Brighton.
“In addition, we will publish the names of all those nominated, so they can see that someone has taken the time to recognise their contribution.”
BSUH also runs the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, the Sussex Eye Hospital and the Princess Royal in Haywards Heath.
The awards ceremony is due to take place on Tuesday 17 November.
