The organisers of a music and arts festival taking place in Preston Park next month have picked Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) as its charity partner.
The housing and homelessness charity will be promoted and supported at Together the People which is due to be held on Saturday 5 September and Sunday 6 September.
The festival will feature the Super Furry Animals, José González, The Levellers and Public Service Broadcasting.
Other performers include Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Billy Bragg and Lucy Rose.
A special programme for children is planned featuring the Cat in the Hat Live and Horrible Histories.
Brighton Housing Trust chief executive Andy Winter said that he and his colleagues were delighted that the organisers had selected BHT as the charity partner.
He said: “Being recognised and supported by something as special as Together the People has provided a huge boost to the organisation.
“Every day we see men and women who are homeless, excluded, forgotten about. By being chosen as the charity partner a statement is being made regarding the importance of our work and the fact that others are supporting us to make a difference.”
Joe Nichols, from Together the People, said: “Supporting people with housing and homelessness is something really important to us.
“Brighton Housing Trust do fantastic work throughout the city and we’re really excited that we can help promote their work.”
