Europe’s most active start-up business accelerator is targeting entrepreneurs in Brighton.
The performance of the accelerator, Entrepreneurial Spark, was highlighted in a report by Fundacity, a website that brings investors and start-ups together.
Entrepreneurial Spark is due to open for business in Brighton in August. According to the Fundacity research, it accelerated 352 start-up businesses last year alone. Those businesses had a combined turnover of £41 million and created more than 1,000 jobs.
It also had an enviable record in making start-ups a success. Some 82 per cent of the businesses that it worked with were still trading a year later compared with the usual 40 per cent rate.
NatWest is working with Entrepreneurial Spark to create a network of eight business accelerator hubs in key cities including Brighton and Hove. The bank was due to hold a showcase event yesterday (Tuesday 12 May).
