Labour held both seats in South Portslade. Long-serving councillor Les Hamilton and Alan Robins were both returned for another four-year term on Brighton and Hove City Council.
Councillor Hamilton, 73, a former school teacher, was first elected in 1971.
Councillor Robins said that the pair would continue to work hard for the people they represented.
