Half of the 400 Brighton staff facing redundancy at Lloyds TSB are being offered jobs in the city by Domestic & General.
Two hundred jobs are being offered by Domestic & General, the owner of Inkfish Call Centres.
The company has collaborated with Brighton and Hove City Council to create the roles which include including team leader, account executive and contact centre manager positions.
The council said that its City Employment Initiatives team had worked with Domestic & General to help facilitate the move and offered support and advice.
Councillor Mary Mears, the leader of the council, said: “This is great news – just what you want to hear at Christmas time.
“Domestic & General demonstrates exactly what can be achieved with a proactive council employment team and a committed local organisation.
“We’ll continue looking at other ways to minimise the impact of any closure in the city.”
Marina Kulikova, Domestic & General’s recruitment manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help some of these people stay in work. It’s a win win for everyone.
“We appoint talented and experienced professionals and they move straight from one job into another.
“We’re grateful for the council’s help in supporting us build our presence in the city over the last year.”
Domestic and General is Britain’s leading provider of warranty protection for domestic appliances.
