A council cock-up led to a Brighton road being dug up and resurfaced just days after it was repainted.
Residents of Heath Hill Avenue were left scratching their heads after the second lot of roadworks to resurface the road started in April – the week after repainting had taken place.
The reason – a simple case of poor communication.
A council spokesperson said: “We’d like to apologise to residents for re-painting some road markings on Heath Hill Avenue and then resurfacing over a small stretch of them.
“This was due to a lack of communication between our highways teams.
“We will be reviewing our internal systems to try and make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
