Detectives investigating a Brighton burglary in which a man forced his way into a woman’s flat have released CCTV images of a man they would like to trace.
At about 9am on 23 March a man forced his way into a flat in Bloomsbury Place, off St George’s Road, and threatened the 47-year-old woman inside.
He stole a camera, cash, bank cards and a laptop computer, which he placed in a black rucksack bearing the logo Speech Radio 4 before escaping.
The offender had earlier visited the flat posing as a researcher working for a youth project but had been sent away by the woman.
The attacker was black, 5ft 10in and in his early 30s with a dark beard on the underside of his chin. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark jacket.
Detective Constable Sarah Townsend said: “We would also like to speak to anyone who has been visited in a similar way in Brighton by a man posing as a researcher.
“If you can identify the man in the CCTV or have any idea where he could be, please contact us.”
