A retired Church of England priest has been charged with indecently assaulting a boy in Portslade in the 1970s.
He is due to appear in court tomorrow (Thursday 9 April).
Sussex Police said: “Robert Coles, 74, of Upperton Road, Eastbourne, a now retired Church of England priest, has been served with a summons alleging eight offences of indecent assault against a boy then aged between 11 and 15 between 1974 and 1977 – four at an address where Coles formerly lived and worked in Foredown Drive, Portslade, and four at an address in Stubbington, Hampshire.
“Coles is due to appear in person at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 9 April.”
